ASB Report August 2019
Cade Kiser
Freshman Representative
September 5th, 2019
Position Assessment: So far, the Freshman Representatives have started their year by selling t-shirts at Pow Wow. This project lasted two days and sales were good. Before t-shirt sales, we designed and agreed upon what the freshman class shirt would look like. Also, we had the back to school rally, in which we decorated the freshman bleachers. The third week of August was Club Rush. For this we sold more t-shirts Monday through Thursday and handed out pre ordered shirts. We are currently starting to plan for the Halloween dance and Homecoming.
Standing Committee: As of now, I am not apart of any standing committees, but I look forward to being on one in the future.
Special Committee: My first special committee involvement was the back to school barbeque. For this I served staff and students with Royce. After the barbecue, the Freshman Representatives and I washed all the dishes that were used.
Concerns: One of my concerns is the behavior issues at the back to school dance. Many students were throwing water bottles, which hit people and even caused someone's eye to start swelling. I felt this was very disrespectful, and I hope the future dances are not like this.
Positive Comment: Kate has been a huge help to the Freshman Representatives. She has answered all of our questions and guided us through everything so far. Without her, we would definitely be lost.
Change: Advisory is a class that I would like to have more than once a week. It is a fun way to connect with my peers. I also feel that since we spend all four years with the same advisory teacher, it would be helpful to connect with them at least twice a week.
My Impact: Right now I feel good about the impact I’ve made through sports at RHS. This summer, the football team volunteered at the recycling center. Through the basketball team, I spent five hours volunteering for the chicken barbeque. The biggest impact that I’ve had so far is from SWAG Night at RHS. The football team did various activities to improve the school. My group was in charge of weeding the softball field.

ASB Report September & October 2019

Freshman Representative
24 October 2019
Position Assessment: It seems that we’ve all transitioned well into high school and these past two months have really gone by fast. The class t-shirt sales have wrapped up for the most part. The Freshmen Representatives worked tirelessly on Homecoming projects. Spending many weekends working on the Freshman Homecoming float, we worked together to create a unique and awesome float. We also spent the week before Homecoming working together on posters and went to school early to decorate, and also helped decorate and clean up the football stadium after the game. The Freshmen Representatives participated in the night rally and did our best. Next came the Halloween Dance which we, the Freshman, put on. This was the first dance we’ve ever done as Representative and overall it went well. We had to sell dance tickets, figure out chaperones (which was a bit stressful) and confirm the DJ, but it all worked out and was a lot of fun.
Standing Committee: I am on the Senior Nights committee for fall sports. I didn’t make it to the golf one, but I went to the volleyball and water polo events.
Special Committee: These past two months I have been involved with two Special Committees, the Halloween Dance Committee and I’m now working on the Tri-Tip Fundraiser Special Committee. This is the first time I’ve ever been a part of a dance committee and I realized after the dance was over, just how much work goes into putting on a school dance. It takes teamwork to make things flow smoothly. The Tri-Tip Fundraiser is a big one as it’s a Leadership fundraiser and I know it is important for our class to do this as best we can.
Concerns: Since we are new to high school and all that goes along with it, being in charge of the Halloween Dance was difficult for us to navigate. My concern is that we didn’t get a lot of guidance on how to put together a successful dance, which made it rough pulling together the DJ, chaperones, etc. The Freshmen Reps figured it out though and I do believe we did the best we could. I’m now concerned about the lack of following directions for the Tri-Tip Fundraiser. We will pull together to do better in the future.
Positive Comment: Gabby Delgado was a huge help with the Freshman HOCO float. She organized getting the trailer, kept it at her house and also scheduled each weekend for us to go over and decorate it. Her dad drove the truck that pulled the float. She took a lot of stress out of that part of HOCO and I really appreciate all she did for our Freshman class.
Change: I would like to see our Leadership class come together and reach out to each other more. There are kids in class that we still aren’t familiar with and I feel like we could do a better job at reaching out and working together. An example of this is the Tri-Tip Committee, which seems to have failed at bonding and working together so far.
My Impact: It was a lot of fun experiencing my first high school homecoming. I made sure that I participated in Spirit Week and spread the word around campus to my fellow freshman class that we needed points and to have fun and participate. I also made sure that we had a parent at the school chaperoning us when we had to decorate the front of the school during spirit week. Keeping a positive attitude during stressful times (HOCO, Halloween Dance, etc) was important for me. I enjoyed being involved and contributing to the overall excitement of Homecoming and the Halloween Dance.

ASB Report November & December 2019
Cade Kiser
Freshman Representative
16 December 2019
Position Assessment: In the past month and up until now, as a Freshman Representative I’ve been busy with multiple projects with the other freshman reps. Together we’ve worked on and participated in Warm and Fuzzy Week, the Night Rally Tree Competition, Christmas Door Decorating, and we are currently working on Winterfest. In addition to those projects we joined together with the entire Leadership class to clean up the MUB after Winter Formal. That job went smoothly as we all put forth our best effort to complete clean-up quickly. Throughout Warm and Fuzzy week I noticed a lot of participation with the student body, which was nice to see. In my opinion, pajama day was a favorite! Even though I was surprised that the Freshman tree lost in the Night Rally Tree Competition, I felt like we worked well together as a team to do our best to come up with a creative theme. Our tree looked really good! Next, we completed Christmas Door Decorating which we all did surprisingly well on. I noticed that some of us were a little more creative than others with our “ornaments” but all in all the doors looked great and we finished planning it in a timely manner. Now we are working on our shopping cart for Winter Fest after having a few planning meetings. The plan is to work on decorating the cart over Christmas Break.
Standing Committee: I’m not currently part of a Standing Committee, and look forward to being on one in the future.
Special Committee: I’m happy to report that I’ve been and currently am involved in a number of Special Committees. I worked on the Dude- Be Nice committee which included writing “thank you” cards to our janitor, LJ. Our group worked together on the Yearbook Rally Poster committee and the Christmas Door Decoration committee, which both went well and we worked quickly and efficiently. Another committee that I’m involved with is the CASL Application Committee in which we worked on our part of the application, Create Connections. The entire class worked on the slides for the Valley Christian On The Road A-G Approval Presentation, which we again did a good job working together on. Lastly, the Valentine Heart Committee is coming together to plan the making of the hearts.
Concerns: My main concern is the lack of communication within the freshman class. We must do better organizing, communicating and executing projects that we are in charge of. When we have a project to complete, I notice that we procrastinate up until the last few days before the due date.
Positive Comment: I’m really happy with how well the freshman class Night Rally Tree turned out and it’s exciting to say that we were the only class that got a vote from the judges. Our freshman leadership group works well together and we get along with each other. Everyday we continue to learn and improve.
Change: As we continue to work together as a team, we will grow and be better at communicating and managing our time. I would like to see the upperclassmen in leadership offer more guidance, and I also know that we as freshman need to reach out for assistance.
My Impact: In addition to having the tree decorating at my house after school, I was able to donate the Christmas tree, the lights and the red spray paint for the freshman class Night Rally Competition. I value the opportunity to give back when I can and I was fortunate that my family had the items available to donate.

ASB Report January 2020
Cade Kiser
Freshman Representative
13 February 2020
Position Assessment: For the month of January 2020, as one of the Freshman Representatives I worked on Winterfest which included continuing to decorate our shopping cart, window decorations, and gym decorations for the Winterfest rally. Once that was over, we started working on Valentine Hearts, cutting them out and writing student names and messages on them. Lastly, I contributed to the planning of the Student vs. Staff Basketball game.
Standing Committee: Currently I’m not involved with a Standing Committee, but I do look forward to being on one in the future. I did enjoy attending the Senior Night basketball game.
Special Committee: For Special Committees, I was involved with the Valentine Heart Committee, where we cut out hearts for each student, wrote their names, and wrote positive messages. Last month I was on a few Special Committees and I look forward to being on more again in February.
Concerns: As I have stated in past reports, I would like to see our Leadership class work together as a whole instead of each grade level working amongst themselves. I really like it when the upperclassmen reach out to the younger group of leadership students and I would love to see more of that happening.
Positive Comment: I would like to thank Kassidy Isham for her positive attitude. She is outgoing, nice and very easy to talk to. She is someone in class that I feel like I could reach out to if I had concerns or questions.
Change: I have noticed that each day when we arrive in class, all students sit next to their peers. Morty has repeatedly asked us to sit next to people that we normally wouldn’t sit next by, but we continue to come into class and sit with those we know and are comfortable with. I can understand how frustrating this must be for Morty, because every day she tells us to move away from our friends and to select a seat next to someone we don’t know very well. I would love for our Leadership class to be more respectful and take it upon ourselves to sit away from our peers before Morty has to ask us.
My Impact: During the month of January, each student in Leadership had to give a speech. All of the speeches were informative and interesting. I felt like my speech was my impact in Leadership this month. After researching the topic I was able to provide an interesting speech that I hope the class enjoyed.
